England brought back memories of 30 years ago

England lost 1-0 to Italy on Friday (September 23) in the Nations League. This loss has resulted in a poor record for Gareth Southgate's team.

Italy striker Giacomo Raspadori scored the only goal for the hosts to win the Nations League at the San Siro. The last time these two teams met was in the Euro final in 2021. England lost there.

but yesterday's match resulted in England's poor record. The defeat against Italy ended England's five-game winless run in competitive football. The Three Lions faced such a bad experience 30 years ago i.e. in 1992. Not only that, Kane-Stralling did not get any goal from open play in these five matches.

Meanwhile, in this year's Nations League, there are only two teams that have not scored from penalties. One of those two teams is England and one is San Marino, the team at the bottom of the football rankings. Apart from this, England has experienced another bad record. This is the first time since 2000 that the English have not scored in three consecutive matches.

However, despite all the bad records, English coach Gareth Southgate gave a message of hope. After the match he said, 'Personally, I think this performance has put us on the right track. If my reaction does not match the result of the match. But I am satisfied with the boys' game.

Meanwhile, as a result of this loss, England's relegation to the second level of the Nations League has been confirmed. England will play in League B in next year's Nations League. England will take on Germany at Wembley on Monday night (September 26) in their final Nations League match.
